How can someone be fine with this? How? So people are saying that Steam has a monopoly on the PC market and that what Epic is doing is great? Like how? Steam still has competition from other stores when it comes to prices, you have the option to buy Steam games from other stores, but when Epic buys their exclusivity to games that are made by other studios, they have a monopoly on those games and can give any price they want, because only they have those games in their store and they don't have any pressure on them because no other store has those games - that's fucking BS and even more a monopoly style business than Steam. Rather than pulling 3rd party games away from other stores and having. Like already mentioned in this thread many times, Epic could compete by prices, service quality, subscription service, launcher features or free games like they are doing, to name a few.

But coming with the mindset that only exclusive games matter, could make people blind to the fact that platform can be attractive for many different reasons. Or the mobility of Switch is an attractive feature which the competition lacks. Or bad services, like the mobile voiceapp on Switch. Better services is one thing, like Gamepass on Xbox. Even though in reality, consoles differentiate themselves by other means than just exclusives too. Where every bullshit is just accepted, because people have to play the exclusive games. I don't know if it's the 'console gamer' mindset. I have hard time comprehending how 'exclusive games' seems to be only way to attract consumers in minds of many people. Too bad many people seem to just put their fingers into their ears and not listen at all. Tip of my hat to people who still take the time to explain to the willfully ignorant, how it's not about 'just clicking another launcher'.

Reading this thread though, it's an emotional rollercoaster from amusement to frustration. There won't be a lot of games that are absolute must buys for me, but there are games I would likely buy without these anti-consumer shenanigans by Epic. Haven't bought it yet, but it's a game I really don't want to skip. Yet they got me with the Final Season of the Walking Dead. I'm definitely against these moves by Epic. I don't think I have anything new to add to this discussion.
